So I took Ray's challenge about 10 minutes of God time each day. I just now started it this week on Sunday night and I have been spending some time before I go to bed and when I wake up in the morning talking to God and reading my Bible. I have been setting my alarm to get up just a little bit earlier to make sure that I make time for God.
I have never read the whole Bible so I decided to start from the beginning and my plan is to read the whole Bible from start to finish. The only problem that I have experienced so far is that I have a king james bible, and sometimes its difficult to understand. Thou shalt needest a Bible that is easier to understand. I am a smart person, but I find myself reading over a verse a couple times to make sure that I understand what it is saying. I know I had an NIV Bible somewhere or had one a few years ago, but I have not been able to find it.

The easiest Bible to read is The Message. My friend Robin got me one for my bridal shower and it is so much easier to read. That is what I read from at home.
I use the NKJV and it is very eay to understand..for me anyway. I used to have a KJV and it was a migraine waiting to happen!
I have been wanting a new Bible too. I am thinking either NIV or NKJV is what I will get.
Missy...I think it's awesome how we started doing the same thing. I'm in Genesis right now and I'm loving the stories about how God created EVERYTHING! It makes you realize how powerful God really is. But anyways....my Mom left that bible here and it's a women's study bible...you could always use it or I would be willing to share my bibile with you...it's an NIV. Let me know what you'd like to do. This is going to change our lives!
How can we live in the same house and not know that we both started this challenge and both started in Genesis? Thats funny. Your Mom left her bible for you to read all the stuff she has underlined, but if you are not going to use it then I can. Thanks!
