HOW RUDE!!!!

Diana, Holly, and I went to lunch today at Max & Ermas. Our jobs are very demanding so we do not get the luxury of not bringing work to lunch with us, but we still like to get out of the office every now and again for lunch. Well at one point I think that me, Diana, and Holly were all on our cell phones dealing with work and I have no doubt that we may have gotten a little loud. Diana had a technician on the phone that she could barely hear so she said a little louder, "Can you hear me?" Well at that very moment another restaurant patron who was seated 2 booths behind us with his girlfriend turned around and said very loudly, "YES THEY CAN HEAR YOU, I CAN HEAR YOU, AND THE WHOLE RESTAURANT CAN HEAR YOU. YOU ARE BEING VERY LOUD AND RUDE AND ARE BOTHERING EVERYONE IN THIS RESTAURANT. YOU SHOULD NOT BRING WORK TO A RESTAURANT. RESTAURANTS ARE FOR PEOPLE TO EAT AND ENJOY." I proceedeed to apologize and told him that I didn't realize that we were being too loud and the rude guy proceeded to chew out all 3 of us. He told us that we should stay at the office instead of taking work to lunch because we should not be conducting business at a restaurant. At this point I was pretty upset. The guy said some other rude things that I can't remember and Diana said, "That was very rude of you, some of us don't have the luxury of not bringing work to lunch with us"
I could not believe that this guy talked to us the way that he did. We tried to finish the rest of our meal, but at this point all 3 of us were ticked off. The guy's girlfriend was shooting Holly some pretty dirty looks whenever she would get too loud on a phone call after that. There are seriously better ways to handle a situation like that. If he would have politely told us that we are being too loud then that would have been different, but he didn't. He was really rude. I have seen lots of people with lap tops out and on cell phones when I go out to lunch. What would make someone act so rudely to perfect strangers? I wonder if one of the guys from the office had joined us for lunch if that guy would have still been rude like that? When we were getting ready to leave Diana and Holly wanted to walk the other way out of the restaurant so that we didn't pass their table, and I told them that we were all 3 going to walk right by them on our way out. We all ignored them, except for Diana who said, "Have a nice night" but the guy said something about us shouting out clients phone numbers and that people could write the number down and call our clients. First of all we didn't give out any client phone numbers while on lunch, and secondly if we did what is he going to do tell our client that we were being too loud and that we took our work to lunch?

Has anyone ever been in a situation like this or similar to this? How did you handle it? What did you say?

Reminder: Jewelry Party This Sunday at 2:00pm

I am posting this as a reminder to all of the ladies. Me and Trish are having a Premier Jewelry Party at 2:00pm this Sunday the 26th at the Church. Everyone is invited so please come. We made it at 2:00pm so that everyone has time to go get lunch and come back. There will however be snacks and refreshments at the jewelry party. Oh and for those of you that have kids please don't hesitate to bring them with you to the party. Robin and Erin will be looking after all of the kids while the adults try on jewelry. I'm sure that everyone saw the flyers at church, but I just wanted to post this blog as a reminder for everyone to make plans to come. Mine and Trish's Family and friends will be there as well so don't hesitate to invite them to come back and visit Center Pointe =).

Wowy Wow!!!!!!

Okay so its only 26 days left until me and Trish leave for California, and it just keeps getting better and better. As you read in my other blog I was worried about money, but Trish made me realize that we did not spend a lot of money out of our regular paycheck earnings on our trip. Over $200 was money we got off of selling some of our unwanted stuff at a yard sale. Some of the money was from selling stuff on Ebay, and the rest of the money was from mine and Trish's bonus money that we get quarterly at work. So we did good! =) Oh but the reason for my blog is mine and Trish's internet surfing adventure. We both absolutely love game shows, and decided to look on the internet to see about getting tickets to watch one of the game shows while we were in California and well we found great stuff! We are going to watch a live taping of Wheel of Fortune while in California (free tickets...yay!) We also have tickets for the Price is Right! We are so going to try to get on the Price is Right!!!!! (Oh those were free tickets too!!!!) We just have to wait in line for a really long time to try to get in the audience and then hope that one of or both of our names get called to be on the show!!! I so can't wait! Wish us luck!!!!

This one is for Scott and anyone else who is not voting for Obama!

I got this in an email today and decided to pass it along!

One sunny day in 2009, an old man approached the White House from across Pennsylvania Avenue , where he'd been sitting on a park bench.

He spoke to the Marine standing guard and said, 'I
would like to go in and meet with President Barack
Obama
.'

The Marine replied, 'Sir, Mr. Obama is not President and he doesn't live here.'

The old man said, 'Okay,' and walked away. The
following day, the same man approached the White House and said to the same Marine, 'I would like to go in and meet with President Barack Obama'.

The Marine again told the man, 'Sir, as I said
yesterday, Mr. Obama is not President and doesn't live here.' The man thanked him and again walked away.

The third day, the same man approached the White House and spoke to the very same Marine, saying 'I would like to go in and meet with President Barack Obama'

The Marine, understandably agitated at this point, looked at the man and said, 'Sir, this is the third day in a row you have been here asking to speak to Mr. Obama.
I've told you already several times that Mr. Obama is not the President and doesn't live here. Don't you
understand?'

The old man answered, 'Oh, I understand you fine. I
just love hearing your answer.'

The Marine snapped to attention, saluted, and said,
'See you tomorrow, sir.'

Can we all say AMEN!!

Customer Satisfaction

So today started out great, me and Trish got that wonderful Trip next month to California booked for a great price. Well then something made me start worrying about the normal thing that people worry about....money! I have lots of bills that need paid, that I am trying to pay, but they are just so overwhelming. Did I make the right decision by scheduling this vacation when I am so in debt? I really can't answer that question. Bills still got paid and are still getting paid, its just that at times it seems so overwhelming and I was feeling pretty down about it today. Well then I got an email from the head honcho owner of the company I work for, he forwarded me an online satisfaction survey from one of my customers and copied my Boss on the email as well. It kind of made my day that one of my customer's would take time out of their day to let someone know that I am doing a good job. I am going to copy and paste what my customer said:

"10/17/2008: Tim (?) was our technician for this location (Southwest Louisiana Education and Referral) and he did an excellent job of communicating and facilitating communication between us and the customer. He was also very knowledgeable concerning his scope of work!Plus, Missy Mahmoud is the greatest dispatcher! She always if VERY attentive to our needs."

My customer didn't even have to add anything about me because the question had nothing to do with me, but he decided to squeeze in a nice comment about me anyway and it made me feel appreciated. I enjoy my job and work hard to make my customer's happy so it was very nice to get this email.

Scatterbrained

Many of you may have read an earlier blog post of mine about someone attempting to break into my car in my apartment parking lot. Well this morning I went over to the dining room chair to pick up my Laptop bag with my Laptop in it as I do every morning when I am heading out the door for work. I starting freaking out because my laptop was not in the chair...the same place that I leave it every single night, so where could I have put it? This is my work Laptop, not mine and has all of my work stuff on it so I am freaking out. Then a thought crosses my mind that I must have left it in my car last night...and that makes me freak out even more because my first thought is that the theives would for sure find a way to get into my car when they see a Laptop bag in plain view. I hurried out to my car and to my surprise my Laptop was safe and sound in my car and no one had broken into my car to take it. I sure am thankful that it wasn't stolen.

Wow time certainly does fly........

Last night I got a Myspace friend request for my 10 year high school reunion which is coming up right around the corner in May of next year. This makes me sad. Where did the time go?
